A 61-year-old Dunnellon man died and a 65-year-old Dunnellon woman was seriously injured on Sunday in a rollover off County Road 40 in Levy County.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, the Dunnellon man was driving a sedan east on Highway 40 near SE 115th Avenue at 3:50 p.m. when, attempting to negotiate a left curve, the sedan left the road and overturned, colliding with a fence. The vehicle came to a rest on its roof.
Emergency responders pronounced the man dead on scene and the passenger, the Dunnellon woman, was transported to a local hospital in serious condition.
