Employee run over, killed by forklift at Blue Compass RV in Alachua

The Alachua Police Department (APD) announced the death of a Blue Compass RV employee after a commercial accident that happened just after 11 a.m. on Thursday.  

APD is investigating and has not released the name of the deceased until the next of kin are notified. The incident happened at the business located at 12380 NW U.S. Highway 441 in Alachua. 

According to a release, the employee was riding alongside a large forklift before jumping off and then being run over. Alachua County Fire Rescue responded to the scene and transported the employee to UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, but the employee was later pronounced dead.
