FHP searches for suspect in Archer hit-and-run

Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) troopers are asking for help in finding a vehicle that struck a Williston woman riding a bicycle in Archer on Aug. 10.

According to an FHP release sent Friday, a 25-year-old Williston woman riding was traveling south on US Highway 41 near SW 139th Avenue on Aug. 10 at 10:20 p.m. when she was struck by a vehicle.

The vehicle fled the scene and emergency responders transported the woman to UF Shands Hospital with serious injuries.

The vehicle may have damage to the right front and possibly may have broken the passenger side mirror, according to the release.

FHP is asking anyone with information about the driver involved in this crash to call the FHP Regional Communications Center at 800-387-1290 or any Crime Stoppers organization.
