Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) is asking for the public to help locate a vehicle investigators say was used in a fatal hit-and-run in Marion County Friday morning.

Around 4:30 a.m., a vehicle traveling south on U.S. 441 near Del Webb Blvd. struck and killed a 44-year-old Umatilla man, who was riding a bicycle with no illumination devices. It is unknown which direction the bicycle was traveling at the time of the accident.

“The front of the vehicle struck the bicyclist within the outside lane,” FHP reported.
