Florida reports 6,093 new positive COVID-19 cases

The Florida Department of Health has reported 6,093 new cases to the Florida COVID-19 Dashboard, bringing the total positive test count to 152,434 cases as of the June 29th report.

Here’s a breakdown of the new coronavirus cases reported by the state each day for the past 10 days:

  • June 21: 3,494
  • June 22: 2,926 
  • June 23: 3,286
  • June 24: 5,508
  • June 25: 5,004
  • June 26: 8,942
  • June 27: 9,585
  • June 28: 8,530
  • June 29: 5,266
  • June 30: 6,093

Statewide hospitalizations­­­ are at 14,850, an increase of 496. The state is not reporting a total number of “recovered” COVID-19 patients, or those currently hospitalized.

3,505 people have died from the virus, an increase of 58 over the day before.

Here are the figures locally for total positive tests:

Alachua County is at 1,197 – up 38 from yesterday.

Gilchrist County 97 – up one from yesterday

Columbia County 287 – up 6 from yesterday.

Levy County 174 – up one from yesterday.

In Alachua County towns:

Alachua/LaCrosse/Worthington Springs 51 – up two from yesterday.

Archer 15 – up one.

Hawthorne 11 – no change.

High Springs 20 – up one.

Micanopy 6 – no change.

Newberry 48 – no change.

Waldo 7 – no change.
