Florida reports 6,563 new positive COVID-19 cases

The Florida Department of Health has reported 6,563 new cases to the Florida COVID-19 Dashboard, bringing the total positive test count to 158,997 cases as of the June 30th report.

Testing increased slightly on Tuesday with 45,366 results reported from labs compared to the 43,411 it received on Monday. That’s still down from the spike in results seen Wednesday through Saturday. 15.04% of those tests were positive.

Here is a breakdown of the new coronavirus cases reported by the state each day for the past 10 days:

Statewide hospitalizations­­­ are at 15,095 an increase of 245. The state is not reporting a total number of “recovered” COVID-19 patients, or those currently hospitalized.

3,550 people have died from the virus, an increase of 45 over the day before.

Here are the figures locally for total positive tests:

Alachua County is at 1,245 – up 48 from yesterday.

Gilchrist County 102 – up 5 from yesterday

Columbia County 296 – up 11 from yesterday.

Levy County 181 – up 7 from yesterday.

In Alachua County towns:

Alachua/LaCrosse/Worthington Springs 55 – up 4 from yesterday.

Archer 15 – no change.

Hawthorne 11 – no change.

High Springs 21 – up one.

Micanopy 6 – no change.

Newberry 49 – up one.

Waldo 7 – no change.
