Florida reports 8,530 new positive COVID-19 cases

The Florida Department of Health has reported 8,530 new cases to the Florida COVID-19 Dashboard, bringing the total positive test count to 141,035 cases as of the June 27th report.

Here’s a breakdown of the new coronavirus cases reported by the state each day for the past 10 days:

  • June 19: 3,822
  • June 20: 4,049
  • June 21: 3,494
  • June 22: 2,926 
  • June 23: 3,286
  • June 24: 5,508
  • June 25: 5,004
  • June 26: 8,942
  • June 27: 9,585
  • June 28: 8,530

Statewide hospitalizations­­­ are at 14,136, an increase of 108. The state is not reporting a total number of “recovered” COVID-19 patients, or those currently hospitalized.

12.4% of the new cases tested positive in the June 27th report.

3,419 people have died from the virus, an increase of 29 over the day before.

Alachua County is at 1,124 – up 91 from yesterday.
Gilchrist County 97 – up three from yesterday.
Columbia County 269 – up eight from yesterday.
Levy County 171 – up three from yesterday.
 
In Alachua County towns:
 
Alachua/LaCrosse/Worthington Springs 48 – up three from yesterday.
Archer 14 – up one from yesterday.
Hawthorne 9 – no change.
High Springs 19 – up one from yesterday.
Micanopy 6 – no change.
Newberry 46 – up three from yesterday.
Waldo 7 – no change.
