Fort White woman, 33, dies and 1 injured in Columbia County head-on collision

A 33-year-old Fort White woman was killed and a 23-year-old Lake City man is in critical condition following a head-on collision on State Road 47 in Columbia County on Tuesday night.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, the Lake City man was driving a sedan north on SR 47 and the Fort White woman was driving a sedan south on SR 47 when the two vehicles collided head-on at 11:10 p.m.

Emergency responders pronounced the Fort White woman dead on scene.

FHP reported that neither driver was wearing a seatbelt.
