The Fort White woman in the SUV side-swiped the pickup in the left turn lane before continuing southbound and hitting the northbound pickup head-on.

Emergency responders transported the 72-year-old Fort White woman to HCA Florida Lake City Hospital where she was pronounced dead. Her passenger, a 64-year-old Fort White woman, was transported to UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville where she was pronounced dead.

The Lake Butler man self-transported himself to HCA North Florida Hospital with minor injuries and the Fort White man driving the pickup was not injured.
