The city of Gainesville will delay mailing annual business tax renewal notices to local businesses as it upgrades to a new software system.

According to a city of Gainesville press release sent Wednesday, the city’s Revenue & Receivables office expects to launch the new software in January 2027. Business tax renewal statements that typically are mailed in early September will instead be available electronically through a new online portal beginning in January.

Businesses with a paid fiscal year 2025-26 business tax receipt will be considered in good standing for the 2026-27 fiscal year until the renewal period reopens.
