Crews from Gainesville Fire Rescue’s NW stations responded to a residential house fire Monday evening shortly before 9pm at the 2900 block of NW 41st Place.

“Crews arrived on scene within six minutes of notification and conducted an aggressive interior fire attack,” said Interim District Chief, David Sutton.

Crews were also able to remove several animals who, despite efforts by firefighters on scene, were not able to be revived.

“The thoughts and prayers of the department go out to the family as they deal with a loved one in critical condition and the loss of beloved pets,” said Assistant Fire Chief, Shawn Hillhouse.
