Law enforcement arrested a Gainesville man on Thursday for posting a video to Instagram where he disclosed plans to shoot up a middle school.
According to an Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) release, Daniel Dominguez, 31, said in his video that he wished to shoot up a middle school and had a handgun and rifle sitting on either side of him.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) viewed the video and notified the Gainesville Police Department (GPD).

GPD then began an investigation and located and detained Dominguez within Gainesville. Investigators learned that Dominguez lived in an unincorporated area of Alachua County and notified ACSO detectives.

Both GPD and ACSO worked together, and a search warrant was obtained for Dominguez’s residence where additional evidence was obtained. Dominguez was then arrested.

Dominguez is being held on a $2 million bond in the Alachua County Jail.
