A Gainesville man died Sunday morning in a single-vehicle accident on NW 13th Street just north of NW 23rd Avenue.
According to the Gainesville Police Department (GPD), the vehicle exited the parking lot at 2400 NW 13th St. (Wawa/Big Lots) and was driving northbound around 2:50 a.m. For reasons still under investigation, his car struck the center median curb, flipped, and landed on its side in front of Lowe’s Home Improvement.
The driver died as the result of the accident, said GPD spokesperson Graham Glover in an email.
Facebook’s Gainesville Word of Mouth group page identified the driver as Calvin Williams, 40, of Gainesville.
