Gainesville woman, 30, dies in I-75 crash near Newberry exit

A 30-year-old Gainesville woman died Tuesday morning when her sedan drove off I-75 near the southbound Newberry exit and collided with a utility pole.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, the woman drove off the road onto the west shoulder near southbound mile marker 387 at 8:30 a.m. and collided with a utility pole.  

Emergency responders transported the woman to UF Health Shands Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
