GFR extinguishes NW 33rd Terrace residential fire

An early morning house fire displaced residents at 3725 NW 33rd Terrace in Gainesville on Tuesday.

Gainesville Fire Rescue (GFR) responded to the 1:15 a.m. call and found smoke coming from the attic and fire on the exterior of the two-story house, according to a GFR release.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze and GFR reported the residents will be temporarily displaced due to the smoke and fire damage. The fire is under investigation.

GFR Assistant Chief Robert Sutton said in the release the residents were awakened by their smoke detector and evacuated their home safely.
