A Gainesville man driving southbound on Interstate 75 died when his pickup left the road and hit several trees on Wednesday morning.
In a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, the 29-year-old male drove off I-75 near mile marker 378 four miles from the Micanopy freeway exit around 9:15 a.m. The pickup went into the median and struck several trees on the left front side of the vehicle.
Emergency responders transported the man to UF Health Shands Hospital where he was pronounced dead. He was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the FHP.Â
