The Gainesville Police Department (GPD) released a photo Monday of the vehicle used in the July 18th drive-by shooting at 8th Avenue Food Store that resulted in one death and five injuries.
The incident took place at 10 p.m. at the convenience store located at 1634 NE 8th Avenue. The pictured vehicle, a Honda SUV, was traveling southbound on NE 17th Street when multiple shots were fired into a crowd outside the store. The vehicle then turned eastbound on NE 8th Avenue.

This is just one of multiple shootings that have taken place in recent weeks, including a Sunday morning shooting in downtown Gainesville at 50 SW 1st Street. Others include:
- June 24: 4 juveniles injured and 1 killed in American Legion shooting
- June 29: 12-year-old shot at Gordon Manor
- July 19: 2 injured in drive-by shooting
Area law enforcement and community leaders have joined in calling for help in finding the suspects in all the shootings and to end the gun violence plaguing Alachua County.
