GPD seeks help locating sex offender

The Gainesville Police Department (GPD) has put out a request for public assistance locating a Gainesville man it says committed sexual battery.

Ramon Demosthenes Adams, 42, is listed as 5-foot-4, 160 pounds. GPD says Adams is a registered sex offender who recently “committed another sexual battery” SW 20th Avenue in West Gainesville.

“He possibly has a limp which can be noticed when he walks,” a GPD press release said.

According to HomeFacts.com, which collects public records on crime, Adams has scars on both arms and his right leg, plus a tattoo on his right arm. It says his criminal history dates back 20 years.

“We believe Adams to be a risk to the public at this time,” the GPD press release said.

Anyone with information on Adams’ whereabouts should contact GPD Detective L. Allen at: 352-393-7726.
