
A Hawthorne residential fire located in the kitchen injured one person on Monday afternoon.
According to an Alachua County Fire Rescue (ACFR) release, firefighters from ACFR, Windsor Fire Department and Melrose Fire Department responded at 4:21 p.m. to a residential building fire just outside the city of Hawthorne.
Upon arrival, fire units found smoke coming from the structure. The fire, located in the kitchen area, had started to spread to other parts of the structure, but firefighters extinguished the blaze before it could spread further.
One person was treated for minor injuries. The investigation revealed that the cause of the fire was accidental.
