A 73-year-old High Springs man was killed after being struck by two vehicles while he was walking along U.S. Highway 41early Wednesday morning.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, the man was walking within the northbound lane of US 41 just north of Adams Street, north of High Springs, around 5:14 a.m., when he was hit by a 58-year-old Fort White woman driving a sedan north on US 41.

The impact launched the High Springs pedestrian into the southbound lane, where he was struck again by a 72-year-old Lake City man driving a van.

I heard the wreck this morning from my home, thought it was just someone with a blown tire, until I was leaving for work and saw FHP everywhere.
