COVID-19 has laid siege to Florida these past several weeks, but measurable data, specifically in the last few days, may show signs it has plateaued or even began to slowly drop.

The Florida Department of Health reported 8,892 new cases to the Florida COVID-19 Dashboard, bringing the total positive test count to 432,747 cases as of the July 26th report. That is the second straight day Florida has reported under 10,000 new cases. It is also the lowest reported figure since July 7th when the FDOH reported 7,347.

The FDOH also reported 88,814 new tests from Sunday. The positivity rate was 11.39% of the total, according to the report. Since July 16th, the positivity rate has stayed below 15%, and most days has been between 10-12%.
