A 57-year-old Lake Butler man died Sunday night when his pickup truck drove off County Road 18 west of Worthington Springs and collided with a tree.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, the man was driving westbound on CR 18 at County Road 241 at 8:02 p.m. when he exited the road onto the grassy shoulder, causing him to overcorrect his steering. The pickup then crossed the eastbound travel lane and continued southwest, where it collided with a standing tree.
According to the release, the driver was not wearing a seatbelt.
