A 53-year-old Lake Butler woman died in a head-on collision that seriously injured a 22-year-old Lake Butler man on Saturday morning on State Road 121 south of La Crosse.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, a 22-year-old Lake Butler man was driving a 2015 Toyota north on SR 121 at 6:15 a.m. about a quarter mile south of NW 177 Avenue and the Lake Butler woman was driving a 2000 Honda south when, for undetermined reasons, the two vehicles collided head-on.
Emergency responders pronounced the Lake Butler woman deceased on scene. The Lake Butler man was transported to UF Shands Hospital in Gainesville with serious injuries.
