A 26-year-old Lake Butler woman died Wednesday afternoon near LaCrosse when she collided with a tractor trailer.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) report, the accident occurred at 2:38 p.m. when a 2017 Honda Accord traveling northbound on State Road 235 ran into the back of a 2022 Mack truck towing a trailer filled with lime rock that was stopped and yielding to an offloading school bus at the intersection of County Road 237.
Emergency responders transported the woman to UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville where she was pronounced dead. The driver of the truck, a 52-year-old man from Hollister, was not injured.
FHP is investigating the accident.
