A 23-year-old Lake City man died early Thursday morning when his sedan ran off County Road 18A, went airborne, collided with the ground and ejected him from the vehicle south of Lake Butler in Union County.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, the man was traveling north on CR-18A at 12:10 a.m. when his 2006 Nissan sedan ran off the roadway to the right, traveled onto the grass shoulder and collided with the edge of SW 63rd Street, causing the vehicle to go airborne over SW 63rd Street. The vehicle then collided with the ground and the driver was ejected from the sedan.
Emergency responders pronounced the man dead on scene.
