A 54-year-old Lake City man was killed after being struck by an SUV while walking on County Road 240 in Columbia County on Monday evening.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, a 24-year-old Mayo woman was driving an SUV west on CR 240 at 6:20 p.m. when she struck the Lake City man, who was walking westward in the roadway. The vehicle came to a controlled stop on the northern shoulder of CR 240.
Emergency responders pronounced the Lake City man dead on scene.
