Lake City man dies in ATV accident

A Lake City man died Friday night when he lost control of an ATV on private property.

According to Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the accident occurred at 6 p.m. The Lake City man, 55, was driving the ATV on property north of SW Windswept Glen, a dead-end road near the crossroads of I-75 and State Road 47.

“The ATV failed to navigate a turn, colliding with a standing tree,” FHP reported.

The man was transported to HCA Florida Lake City Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
