A 53-year-old Lake City man was hit by an SUV while walking along US 441 on Saturday night in Columbia County.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, a 74-year-old Fort White woman was driving southbound on US 441 at Old Haltiwagner Road at 7:32 p.m. when she struck the Lake City man walking southbound on US 441 in the travel lane.

The SUV driver came to a stop on the shoulder of US 441.
