Lake City police investigating child’s death

Emergency responders discovered a 23-month-old boy dead at a home on SW Theresa Court in Lake City on Friday.

According to a Lake City Police Department (LCPD) press release Monday afternoon, officers were dispatched at 11:44 a.m. on Friday. They found an unresponsive toddler, Zayne T. Teates, in the home.

Florida Department of Law Enforcement agents and LCPD began an investigation into the child’s death and have no further information at this time.
