Lake City man, 27, seriously injured in motorcycle crash in Columbia County

A 27-year-old Lake City man was seriously injured Tuesday when he lost control of his bike on County Road 240 in Columbia County and collided with a stop sign and construction sign.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, the man was riding his motorcycle west on CR 240 and was approaching the intersection of SW Little Road south of Lake City at 12:20 p.m. when he lost control of the bike and slid along the roadway. The motorcycle collided with a stop sign and construction sign on the south shoulder of SW Little Road.

Emergency responders transported the motorcycle rider to a local hospital with serious injuries.
