Two people were injured in separate shootings in Lake City on Friday night.

According to a Lake City Police Department (LCPD) release, officers were dispatched to US Highway 90 at NW Ridgewood Avenue at 8:59 p.m. to the report of a person shot.

Officers found a victim suffering from two gunshot wounds. The victim said the incident occurred while they were traveling west on US Hwy 90 when a grey SUV pulled up alongside their vehicle and shot at the vehicle. Emergency responders transported the victim – who was the sole occupant of the vehicle – to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

At 10:30 p.m., officers were sent to NE Trinity Place to the report of another person shot. When they arrived, they discovered two people in a house that had been shot numerous times. One person inside the house was struck in the back by a bullet fragment. Emergency responders treated the victim on scene for their injuries.

The LCPD’s Criminal Investigation Division and Columbia County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Technicians personnel are investigating both crime scenes.
