The Lake City VA Medical Center (VAMC) is hosting a walk-up COVID-19 vaccine clinic Thursday, Feb. 3, for VA patients age 65 and above.

The event will take place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 619 South Marion Avenue in Lake City. The VAMC will have signage directing attendees to designated parking in the Blue Lot (see facility map here), according to a VA press release.

Veterans who have received care at any North Florida/South Georgia Veteran Health System site qualify to participate. They also need to have VA health care benefits and be able to return for the second vaccine dose three weeks later.

The vaccination event is not open to anyone who has had any other vaccination within 14 days or had COVID-19 or flu-like symptoms.

The Lake City clinic comes as the VA announced Tuesday that it has administered 1 million vaccine doses to veterans in the last six weeks, including 100,000 in Florida and Puerto Rico.

So far more the VA has fully vaccinated more than 44,000 veterans with both doses of either the Moderna or Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines.

The VA updates its number daily online.
