LCPD plans Memorial Day weekend DUI checkpoint

The Lake City Police Department (LCPD) will be conducting a multi-agency DUI checkpoint on Saturday, May 28, intended to reduce the impact of impaired drivers and impairment-related crashes during the Memorial Day Weekend.

According to an LCPD release, the checkpoint will be conducted between the hours of 7 p.m. and 2 a.m. and will target drivers who choose to drive after consuming drugs or alcohol.

This checkpoint is part of LCPD’s Strategic Traffic Enforcement Program, funded by the Florida Department of Transportation.
