Levy County ATV accident kills 12-year-old

A 12-year-old Oldsmar boy died and a 19-year-old New Port Richie male was injured when they were ejected from an ATV north of Inglis on Friday night.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) report, the incident occurred on SE Butler Boulevard and SE Townsend Avenue around 9 p.m. The Oldsmar boy drove the ATV when it overturned and both people were ejected.

Emergency responders transported the Oldsmar boy to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The New Port Richie passenger received minor injuries.
