The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) has issued a motorist advisory due to an active five-acre forest fire south of Bronson in Levy County.

The fire is burning on State Road 24 near NE Poole Road, according to an FHP press release. It has the potential to affect travel on State Road 24 throughout the night and into Wednesday morning.

FHP urged motorists to use caution when traveling in the area, citing the likelihood that visibility will be low and could deteriorate quickly during the overnight hours. FHP asks that motorists reduce speed and use low-beam headlines when traveling on State Road 24 between Bronson and Archer.
