A Live Oak man died in a single-vehicle accident Thursday in Levy County, according to Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
The accident occurred at 5:55 p.m. on County Road 339. The 45-year-old driver was traveling northbound toward Trenton when he veered off the road into the grassy shoulder near the intersection with NE 150th Street.
According to an FHP report, the driver overcorrected to the left, then overcorrected back to the right, causing the SUV to spin and flip onto its side. It came to a final rest blocking both the north and southbound lanes on County Road 339.
The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and ejected when the vehicle overturned. Levy County Fire Rescue Paramedic Steven Marji declared the driver deceased on the scene at 6:27 p.m.
