Live Oak man, 51, dies when SUV veers off road, collides with tree

A 51-year-old Live Oak man died Thursday evening when his SUV veered off 96th Street east of Live Oak and collided with a tree.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, the man was driving east on 96th Street near 209th Place at 7:10 p.m. in Suwannee County when his Acura SUV veered off the south shoulder of 96th Street and the vehicle collided with a tree.

Emergency responders transported the driver to the Suwannee Emergency Room, where he was pronounced dead. He was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt.
