A 56-year-old Live Oak man died Friday afternoon when his pickup failed to navigate a left-hand curve on County Road 249 in Suwannee County and collided with a road sign, trees and a power pole.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, the man was driving south on CR 249 near 52nd Street north of Live Oak at 2:55 p.m. when his Chevrolet pickup failed to negotiate the left-hand curve and traveled off the road. The pickup collided with a road sign, trees and a power pole.

Emergency responders pronounced the driver dead on scene. He was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt.
