Live Oak man, 61, dies after pickup collides with SUV in Suwannee County

A 61-year-old Live Oak man was killed and a 61-year-old Jasper man was injured in a two-vehicle collision on US Highway 129 north of Live Oak on Thursday evening.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, the Live Oak man was driving a pickup truck on US 129 south of 58th Street at 9:34 p.m. when he collided with an SUV, driven by the Jasper man, that was stopped in a construction zone.

Emergency responders transported the Live Oak man to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Jasper man received minor injuries.

According to the release, the Live Oak man was not wearing a seat belt.
