A 39-year-old Bradford County man died Wednesday morning when the car he was riding in turned in front of another another vehicle.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the accident occurred around 8 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. 301 and SW 134th Terrace, which is just south of Starke.

FHP reported that the 70-year-old driver of a sport utility vehicle was traveling south on 301 and “failed to make a proper left hand turn.” The vehicle crossed in front of a northbound pickup truck, which broadsided the SUV, killing its 39-year-old passenger. The driver is listed in critical condition.
