Breaking News Overnight: Crash on I-75 in Columbia County kills one, injures two

The Florida Highway Patrol responded to a one vehicle crash last night at approximately 8:20 pm in on Interstate 75 in Columbia County.

A 55-year old Dunnellon man, driving an SUV and transporting two passengers, was traveling northbound on Interstate 75 near Mile Marker 428 when for reasons still under investigation, exited off the east shoulder and continued in a northern direction off the roadway until the vehicle collided with a tree.

The driver and the rear passenger were transported to UF Health in Gainesville with serious injuries according to the FHP. The front passenger was pronounced deceased on scene by EMS.
