Breaking News Overnight: Three-vehicle collision in Marion County kills Ocala woman

The Florida Highway Patrol responded to a three-vehicle crash last night at approximately 6:30 pm yesterday in Marion County.

According to the FHP report, a van driven by a 16-year-old Ocala girl, was traveling west on Hemlock Road, east of the intersection of Pine Road. A second vehicle, a sport utility vehicle driven by an Ocala woman, was traveling northbound on Pine Road, south of the intersection of Hemlock Road. A third vehicle, a sedan driven by an Ocala man was traveling south, north of the intersection of Hemlock Road.

According to the report, the van failed to yield the right of way to the SUV and traveled into the intersection of Pine Road and Hemlock Road.

The front of the van struck the right side of the SUV. The collision between the two vehicles caused the SUV to overturn, become airborne and land on the front of the sedan.

According to the report the driver of the SUV was pronounced deceased on the scene.

The FHP did not release the names of the three drivers.
