A Chiefland man, 83, died Wednesday afternoon after a crash with a semitruck on U.S. 19 at the intersection with C.R. 347.

Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reports that the accident happened at 3:45 p.m. when the Chiefland man, driving an SUV, stopped at the intersection and then continued across U.S. 19.

Already traveling south on the highway, the semitruck, driven by a 32-year-old Reddick resident, collided with the SUV.
