Law enforcement is using bloodhounds to assist in the search for a 74-year-old Gainesville man who went missing on Sunday afternoon.

According to a Gainesville Police Department (GPD) release sent Monday, the search is being concentrated around Tom Petty Park (400 NE 16th Ave.) for Ronald Ramalho, who was last seen leaving his apartment around 3:30 p.m. on Sunday on 1901 NE 2nd St.

Romalho’s walker was recovered around 4:50 p.m. on Sunday at the Publix located at 1302 N. Main St. He is believed to be wearing a grey T-shirt, black pants and a black hat and has a history of confusion, vision and hearing issues. He is also a diabetic and does not have his medications with him.

The Florida Department of Corrections bloodhounds are assisting with the ground search.
