Two Dunnellon residents killed, one seriously injured in crash on SR 93 in Columbia County

The Florida Highway Patrol responded to a one vehicle crash last night at approximately 8:20 pm on State Road 93 in Columbia County.

A 55-year old Dunnellon man, driving a 2001 Ford SUV and transporting two passengers, was traveling northbound on SR 93 when for unknown reasons, exited off the east shoulder and continued in a northern direction off the roadway until the vehicle collided with a tree.

The driver and rear passenger, a 30-year-old female resident of Dunnellon, were air lifted to Shands Hospital in Gainesville with serious injuries according to the FHP. The front passenger, a 55-year-old female resident of Dunnellon, was pronounced deceased on the scene by Columbia County Fire Rescue. The second passenger was pronounced deceased at 8:30 am today at Shands.
