
The Florida Highway Patrol responded to a three vehicle-collision yesterday at approximately 4:52 pm in Alachua County.
According to the FHP report, a pickup truck driven by a 37-year-old Archer man, was traveling east on State Road 24, near the intersection of 122nd Street. Two other vehicles, a pickup truck driven by a 68-year-old Trenton man, and a sport utility vehicle, driven by a 38-year-old Archer woman, were both traveling west on State Road 24 when the crash occurred.
The driver of the second vehicle was transported to Shands Hospital in Gainesville where he was pronounced deceased. The driver of the first vehicle received serious injuries in the crash. A passenger in the first vehicle also received minor injuries, according to the report.
The crash is still under investigation. No other details were released, and the names of the drivers or passengers were not released.
