Updating Breaking News: Pedestrian hit and killed by vehicle in Alachua County

The Florida Highway Patrol responded to an incident this morning, when a vehicle hit and killed a pedestrian in Alachua County.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol report, at approximately 6:30 AM, a silver Mitsubishi driven by a 38-year-old man from Gainesville, was traveling southbound on NW US Hwy 441 when it struck a 40-year-old man from Alachua within the intersection of NW 147th Drive in the city of Alachua. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene by Alachua County Fire Rescue.

FHP is still investigating the crash, and did not release the name of the driver or the pedestrian.
