Updating Breaking News: Two-car collision in Levy County leaves both drivers injured

The Florida Highway Patrol responded to atwo-car crash this morning at approximately 7:22 AM in Levy County.

NB US 19, 1 mile north of SE Butler Rd

According to the FHP report, two vehicles, a 2005 Nissan driven by a 65-year-old Inglis woman, and a 2006 Hyundai, driven by a 39-year-old Crystal River man, were traveling north on US 19, one mile north of SE Butler Road near Inglis in Levy County.

Both vehicles were in the inside lane, with the Nissan in Hyundai.

For unknown reasons Hyundai driver failed to slow as it approached the Nissan, causing the front of it to strike the Nissan’s rear.

After the collision, both vehicles came to rest on US 19, where Nissan was facing north west and the Hyundai was facing southwest. The Crystal River man was transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center and the Inglis woman was transported to Seven Rivers Hospital, both suffering from minor injuries according to the FHP report.

The FHP did not release the names of the drivers.
