Updating Breaking News: Two-vehicle collision in Marion County kills Umatilla man

The Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle crash at approximately 6:10 am on Friday in Marion County.

According to the FHP report, A tractor-trailer, driven by a 48-year-old Ocala man, was northbound making a left turn, across State Road 326. The second vehicle, a sedan driven by a 49-year-old Umatilla man, was eastbound on State Road 326.

The trailer on the first vehicle was across the eastbound lane of State Road 326 when the front of the sedan struck the front left wheel on the trailer.

The tractor/trailer was driven to the north shoulder of State Road 326. The sedan came to rest facing northeast in the eastbound lane of State Road 326.

The driver of the sedan was pronounced deceased by Marion County Fire Rescue at 06:25am.

The FHP did not release the names of the two drivers.
