Chiefland attorney appointed to Levy County Court

On Wednesday, Gov. Ron DeSantis appointed Chiefland attorney Luis Bustamante to serve as a judge on the Levy County Court.

Bustamante will fill the judicial vacancy following the retirement of Judge James Browning.

Since 2015, Bustamante has served as an Assistant State Attorney for the Eighth Judicial Circuit. He previously served as the sole practitioner for the Law Office of Luis Bustamante.

Bustamante earned his bachelor’s degree from Florida Atlantic University and his juris doctor from Florida State University.
